Features in Thinwin 1.41

Ø      Hover text (aka tool tip text) made available on all controls to display useful descriptions.  (For example, 5010 loop and segment associated fields)

Ø      Fixed truncated right click pop-up menu in task manager

Ø      Thinwin now allows special characters in passwords like @, $, /, \, ?, –, by using the technique of URL encoding. In the past this would have caused reports to not function correctly due to a special character messing with the URL of the report. This has been corrected.

Ø      Using the extended standard version number Major.Minor.patch   ex. 1.39.2

Ø      Removed browser code that caused “It worked” to erroneously pop up.   In addition, the twserver has been replaced on all servers to eliminate the issue.

Ø      Made date fields smarter to better interpret what users are entering, as well as prevent bad characters from being entered into them.

Ø      Correction for the issue with the two LBAR menus (when multiple products) are accessed.

Ø      ID fields (and possibly others) are now type numeric.   Previous versions of ThinWin would reject any non-numeric character including whitespace characters.   The new version now strips white space characters prior to validating the characters.

Ø      Updated twPrint V2.11 which has much improved vertical alignment logic.

Ø      The associated temp directory is cleared upon exit to remove any temp files.

New Features & Fixes 1.38

Ø     IE Web Browser Control security improvement – Some versions of Internet Explorer (6.x) had security issues and it was reported to Practice Insight that in some rare circumstances that if a user printed a web based report that the user’s credentials could be printed.    V1.38 uses an alternative mechanism to authenticate with the web server in which the user credentials are not used so it cannot expose them on a report.

Ø      Tool Tip hover text added to more controls and glitch fixed; TOOL TIPS – NOW DISPLAY FOR TEXT BOXES AND TAB FORM BUTTON QUERIES

Ø     Date entry now allows m/d/yy as well as mm/dd/yy and yyyy or mmddyy or mmddyyyy

Ø     Choice header color fix for Vista and Windows 7

Ø      Right Click Pop-Up Sub-Menu bug fixed (for future applications)

Ø     List View – Tree View (or future  applications)

Ø      Choice List – immediate refresh after edit w/o exiting program fix.

Ø     Numeric Control Fixed – only numbers are allowed.

Ø      List Views w/o items will not crash if arrow keys are pressed

Ø     Twprint V2.11 improved printer alignment functionality

New Features 1.37

Ø       Corrected Read-only issue with radio and check-box controls

Ø       Date of form 010110 will now be interpreted as 01/01/2010 instead of 01/01/1910

Ø       Memo Box handling of [END] key has been improved.  The [END] key in a memo edit (multi-line text memo) functions as follows:

·        if the memo control is not in edit mode (yellow background), pressing the [END] key will save data and close the form (as previously done)

·        if the memo control is in edit mode (green background) but the blinking text cursor (vertical bar) is not at the end of the line, then pressing the [END] key will move the text cursor to the end of the line (consistent with other text editors).

·        if the memo control is in edit mode (green background) but the blinking text cursor (vertical bar) is at the end of the line, then pressing the [END] key will advance focus on the next control and any text changes will be saved.

Ø       TAB key handling now works similar to the ENTER key with respect to cursor movement and focus.

Ø       Fixed rare issue in which the left side menu bar remained visible after abnormal disconnection

New Features implemented in 1.36

Ø       Special characters such as pipe symbols ‘|’ are now permitted in memo fields.   These special characters should normally be restricted to use in Issue Manager related messages.   If extensive special character edits are needed,  a better approach is to attach a Word or PDF document to the related issue.

Ø       Improved authentication for browser based reports

New Features implemented in 1.35

Ø       TCP port 443 (HTTPS) is now supported.  Please note that the desktop client, (ThinWin) uses 128 bit encryption irrespective of which port is used.   Now all internet traffic will pass through port 443 when specified.

Ø       Sub window forms may now be resized by holding the left mouse down when the cursor is near an edge or corner.  The cursor will change accordingly to indicate a resize event is in progress.

New Features implemented in 1.34d

Ø       Browser report startup will be faster for very large reports

Ø       List View Copy via CTRL-C now trims text prior to corresponding paste

Ø       Memo box editing now shows yellow (as other fields) when memo obtains keyboard focus

Ø       Pressing the [ENTER] button when the background is yellow advances to next field

Ø       Type text automatically changes the mode to allow the [ENTER] button to insert line feed carriage returns.

Ø       The background color of the memo field changes color from yellow to a light green to provide a visual clue.

Ø       If the user is in the green mode – the user must press CTRL-I to toggle back to the yellow mode or the user may click on another field.    Pressing [END] will exit out of the hosting dialog box or form.

Ø       Corrected cosmetic issue with stretched button icons seen on some wide screen monitors.

Ø       Will not save minimized geometries.  This issue was caused if a user closed a minimized instance of ThinWin.

Ø       There is a new check-box in the advanced screen section to enable or disable the user name save.   This feature is useful for users that share 1 PC.

Ø       Max length of single line text edits was increased from 128 to 256 characters.

Ø       Embedded browser support for Dashboard features

Ø       Improved click and hold title bar dialog box movement
